Michelle & Herbert

Michelle S. Moultrie and Herbert A. Summers are pleased to announce their plans to marry on April 30, 2011.
Michelle, the daughter of Mrs. & Mr. Andrew Moultrie, is a native of Pineville, SC. Her alma mater is Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC. She is an engineer tech designer/ hair stylist.
Herbert, the son of Mr. Abraham Summers & Mrs. Leah Edwards, is a native of West Ashley, SC. His alma mater is Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC. He works for the United States Postal Service.
Herbert and Michelle met in February 2009 at a bar and grill in West Ashley. ” I was out with my friends and he was out with his friends” recalls Michelle. “He had watched me turn down guys all night and was very hesitant to approach me. Thank God he had a friend with him who also knew me.
"His friend helped break the ice by introducing us. My first thoughts were that he was a super cutie and he seemed like a sweetie, but that can be deceiving. Once I got to know him, he was exactly what I'd first thought, a pure sweet heart!!"
They became engaged on Valentines Day 2010.
"Herbert had invited all my family, his family and me to attend church services with him at Royal Missionary Baptist Church. We live in SC where it NEVER snows but on that Sunday, there was snow.
"My parents lived an hour away and due to the snow, they had power and water problems. I began to panic because services started at 8:00am and I wanted all of us to sit together. I had no clue why Herbert had even invited my family. I began calling around to make sure they were on the way. Herbert was calm and not in a rush at all which did not help the situation.
"We all made it to church safely. At the end of the service the pastor calls him up to the front of the church. I was wondering why and what is going on. Herbert went to the front of the church and proposed to me in front of about 2,000 people. It took me a while to realize what was going on, but I managed to get out a yes."
Their wedding will take place in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
