Sherika & Artrezs

Sherika Hallums and Artrezs Moton are pleased to announce their plans to wed on May 14, 2012.

Sherika, the daughter of Elaine M. Hallums and Jimmy Hallums, is a native of Liberty, SC. Her alma mater is University of South Carolina – Columbia. She is a healthcare professional.

Artrezs, the son of Gay Griffin and Ernest Moton, is a native of Cokesbury, SC. His alma mater is University of Phoenix. He is a healthcare professional.

Sherika and Artrezs met on October 5, 2008 at a wedding. Her god-sister was marrying his best friend.

"His beautiful smile caught my eyes after the wedding," recalls Sherika. "I inquired about him and his status before going to the reception.

"Once dinner was over, we were introduced and couldn't stop conversing with one another all night. We had brunch the next morning, and we've been together since."

The two have been planning their wedding since Artrezs proposed the week before Christmas 2010.

"I was getting ready for our Christmas dinner, and he called and said that he would like to show me some homes in a great neighborhood that I would love.

"We arrived at the first home, did a tour, toured a second home, and finally a third home. During our tour in the third home, I walked upstairs in amazement of the layout, turned around to speak to him and he was on one knee!

"He stated to me, 'this home we are standing in will be like the one we will have in our future. I promise to love you always and be there for you,' and then he asked me to marry him!"
